A walking foot, piecing foot and external table can save separate purchases, provided they are actually in the delivered box. Without that evidence, the offer should be judged as a compact sewing machine rather than a ready-made quilting station.
Sort the box into three different quilting tasks
Brother’s SQ9285 information describes a wide table and walking, quarter-inch and quilting feet in the original package. These pieces do not perform interchangeable jobs. The quarter-inch foot helps with piecing, the walking foot assists layer feeding, and free-motion work requires its own setup and handling skills.
Ask the seller for photographs of the actual feet from both above and below. A long accessory list copied from the new-machine listing is not confirmation of a refurbished package. Check table legs and fit as well: unsupported or uneven fabric support can undermine the reason for buying the table.
Read 205 as 150 plus 55
The published total combines 150 sewing stitches and 55 alphanumeric characters. Eight one-step buttonhole styles and the speed control matter more for everyday sewing than the headline total. Letters are sewn as patterns; this machine is not a hoop-embroidery system for importing custom artwork.
A beginner making patchwork blocks will probably spend much more time on a few straight-seam settings than on that complete menu. The broader library becomes useful when decorative borders, garment repairs and labels share the same machine. It should not be counted as additional quilting workspace or stronger feeding hardware.
Use a sample sandwich before committing to a quilt
Build an acceptance sample using the backing, batting and top fabric you expect to use. Try the documented walking-foot setup at a controlled speed, then inspect both sides and the alignment of the layers. Test the ordinary sewing foot separately on a garment-weight scrap so the quilting sample does not become the only evidence of stitch formation.
