Effective date: August 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sewing Machine Guide processes when you visit the site, use its interactive tools, leave a comment, or contact us.
Information you provide
Contact messages
If you use the Contact page, we process the name, email address, selected topic, and message you submit. The form emails this information to the site administrator and does not intentionally save the message as a WordPress database record. The site’s mail server or email provider may retain it according to its own settings. A short-lived, one-way identifier based on the submitting network address is used to limit repeated form submissions.
Comments
If comments are available and you leave one, WordPress may collect the information shown in the comment form, your IP address, and browser user-agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string derived from your email address may be supplied to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. After approval, a Gravatar profile image may be visible with the comment. You may choose to save your name, email address, and website in browser cookies for convenience.
Information processed automatically
Server logs
The web host may record technical request information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referring page, date and time, and error or security events. These logs are used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
Browser storage and cookies
Favorites, products selected for comparison, cached comparison details, and the selected currency are stored in your browser’s local storage. This information remains on your device and is not a user account. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser. WordPress may also set essential cookies for logged-in administrators and, when used, comment preferences. We do not currently use a visitor analytics service.
Embedded content and third-party sites
Some pages may include embedded content such as a video. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the provider directly and may collect data, set cookies, or track interaction according to that provider’s policy. Links to Amazon, manufacturers, and other retailers take you to third-party sites. Those sites control their own checkout, cookies, tracking, and privacy practices.
Affiliate links
Some outbound retailer links are affiliate links. A retailer or affiliate network may recognize that a visit or qualifying purchase originated from this site. See the Affiliate Disclosure for the commercial relationship; consult the retailer’s privacy notice for its data practices.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, consider corrections, moderate comments, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by hosting, email, spam-prevention, embedded-content, or technical service providers when needed to provide their services, and may be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect the site and its users.
Retention
Contact correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain relevant business or correction records, and meet legal obligations. Approved comments and their metadata may be retained so follow-up comments can be recognized. Server-log retention is controlled by the hosting configuration. Browser local storage remains until you or the browser clears it.
Your choices and rights
- Clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
- Choose not to submit a contact form or comment.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control, subject to legal and security exceptions.
- Contact the relevant retailer or embedded-content provider about information it controls.
Privacy rights vary by location. To submit a request, use the Contact page and choose “Privacy request.” We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site’s tools, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
