Separate the machine from the kit
The archived Sunbeam SB08 operating instructions identify the underlying SB08 mini format, including upper and bobbin threads, a speed button, a foot-pedal connection and battery/DC power options. The manual is labelled SB08, so it does not by itself establish what was included in an SB08K retail bundle.

A small machine still requires a complete setup
A prethreaded sample can show that a machine formed a seam at one point. It cannot show that the next user understands threading, bobbin placement or seam-end finishing. The SB08 manual requires disconnecting power, including batteries, for threading and needle changes. It also states that the machine is not intended for use by or near children.
