The BM3850 gives you stitch selection and adjustment through physical controls. It does not offer the electronic speed ceiling or start/stop sewing found on some computerized machines. For a learner, that means the foot controller remains part of the skill being learned; an easy-to-read selector cannot solve uncomfortable pedal response.
The bobbin is accessible, but its thread path still matters
